Large single storey bungalow on a beautiful site in the depths of Stanmore

The most prestigious project the company has worked on, Aylmer Drive consists of a large single storey bungalow on a beautiful site in the depths of Stanmore, Hertfordshire. The existing house surrounds a large redwood pine tree, which is the feature of the site and the design inspiration. The goal of the developer of the site is to design a large house of about 6000 square feet. Next door there is a listed, flat roof house constructed from railway sleepers. In response to this unique design next door, the proposal used a flat roof as well to compliment respond to the contemporary theme of the area. Due to the number of trees on the site, the new plan had to adopt the same footprint of the existing house. Taking inspiration from the natural features of the site, the design developed from horizontal and vertical planes. The use of water and natural materials have been incorporated to generate a serene environment which complements the site. The proposal is currently being developed.
